Approached by the Tourism Bureau of Ottawa, we were asked (for the second year) to design, build and install the official Ottawan booth for DIFFA's annual Dining by Design. This year's challenge was to create a booth that took advantage of a corner spot, include multiple images of the iconic Ottawa skyline, add fresh tulips (Ottawa is famous for millions of tulips given to them by Holland for Canada's help to them during WWII. Every year they have an amazing tulip festival), and include video screens of Ottawan scenic glory. The floor of the booth is a large map of the city including a small detail showing the proximity of Ottawa to Montreal, Toronto, Boston and NYC. Tying it all together is a bold sculptural and retro-feeling lit sign free-standing above the custom made red lacquered dining table with Maple Leaf appliques.
